In case of an accident

Stay calm. You're no help to yourself or others if you panic.

First things first
  • If possible, move your car to a safe place so that you're not creating additional danger.
  • Turn off your engine and turn on your hazard lights to warn other motorists.
  • Never cross a carriageway.
  • If you have reflective clothing, wear it to make yourself visible.
  • Never smoke, in case there's been a chemical or petrol spill.
  • Disable the vehicles involved by turning off engines and applying handbrakes.
